The Situation
We received a panicked call at 4pm on a Saturday. The boiler had made a loud bang and completely cut out. With temperatures dropping below freezing and a 6-month-old baby in the house, the family needed an immediate solution.
The Diagnosis
Our on-call engineer arrived by 6pm. Upon inspection, it was clear that the main heat exchanger had cracked and was leaking water onto the PCB. The 15-year-old boiler was beyond economical repair and unsafe to run.

Our team arrived at 8:00am Sunday morning with a new Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000. We power flushed the radiators to remove sludge (which likely killed the old boiler) and installed a magnetic system filter to protect the new unit.
